Credits – Recording, Mixing, and Production Projects

The Happy Hollows - “Weird Group of Bandits” – Chickens In Love – MIXING

An unbelievably awesome project: Los Angeles kids write songs that local indie bands then cover, with all the proceeds going to 826LA, a non-profit dedicated to teaching children how to write. I did basic tracks for this at Bedrock Studios. The album is available on iTunes and on vinyl at Origami Vinyl in Echo Park. Other artists on the record include She & Him, Summer Darling, Cold War Kids, Fiona Apple, Crystal Antlers, and more.

Frog Hollow – “Dinner Song” – MIXING – (play The Dinner Song)

Luxury Wafers  - MIXING

For a nice portion of 2009, I mixed a number of live sessions for this really fun music blog in Los Angeles. The performances were always exciting since overdubs and edits were forbidden, and this also led to some challenging yet satisfying mix sessions. Check out a few of my favorites: Jessica Fichot, Ha Ha Tonka, Illinois, and Princeton. (Links open in new window.)

USC JazzReach – RECORDING + MIXING

As part of the Outreach program at the University of Southern California’s School of Music, each semester jazz ensembles from Los Angeles area schools would record a CD. As head engineer on the project for two years, I recorded elementary school choirs, small middle school combos, and the Los Angeles Youth Jazz Orchestra, an elite jazz ensemble sponsored by Jazzreach. I also edited and mixed a yearly CD that features highlights from the ensembles’ recording sessions and concerts.
